Short answer: 2 days are enough to see Ayodhya properly. On Day 1, cover the temple area around Ram Path — Hanuman Garhi, Ram Mandir darshan, Kanak Bhawan, Dashrath Mahal — and end with the evening Saryu Aarti at Naya Ghat. On Day 2, go slightly outside the old city — Guptar Ghat, Bharat Kund (Nandigram), Mani Parvat and Ram Katha Park — and do shopping on Ram Path in the evening. Stay near Ram Path or Naya Ghat so you can walk to most places.
Most visitors think Ayodhya needs 4–5 days. It doesn't. Almost all the important temples are within 2–3 km of each other, and the few places outside the city can be covered in half a day by cab. Day 1: Ram Mandir, Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan & Saryu Aarti
6:30 AM — Saryu Snan at Naya Ghat (optional)
Many pilgrims start the day with a holy dip in the Saryu. The ghat is calm early in the morning. Keep a change of clothes and a small towel; changing rooms are available at the ghat.
7:30 AM — Hanuman Garhi
By tradition, devotees first take the blessings of Hanuman ji, the guardian of Ayodhya, before visiting Ram Lalla. The temple is on a small hill, reached by about 70+ steps. 9:00 AM — Ram Mandir (Shri Ram Janmabhoomi) Darshan
From Hanuman Garhi it is about 1 km to the Ram Mandir entry on Ram Path — walk or take an e-rickshaw. Keep 2–3 hours for security, the queue and darshan.

12:30 PM — Lunch

2:00 PM — Rest (temples close in the afternoon)
Most temples in Ayodhya close for a few hours in the afternoon for bhog and rest. Use this time to go back to your hotel and rest — you will walk a lot in the evening.
4:00 PM — Kanak Bhawan, Dashrath Mahal & Sita Ki Rasoi Area
- Kanak Bhawan — a beautiful temple believed to be the palace gifted to Mata Sita by Kaikeyi. Known for its golden-crowned idols of Sita-Ram.
- Dashrath Mahal — associated with King Dashrath's royal palace; the evening bhajans here are very peaceful.
- Sita Ki Rasoi — a symbolic kitchen of Mata Sita near the Janmabhoomi area.

5:15 PM (winter) / 6:30 PM (summer) — Ram Ki Paidi & Saryu Aarti
Walk down to Ram Ki Paidi and Naya Ghat. Visit the ancient Nageshwarnath Temple at Ram Ki Paidi, then find a seat on the ghat steps for the evening Saryu Aarti — around 6:00 PM in winter and 7:00 PM in summer. 7:00 PM — Light Show & Dinner
On most evenings a short light / laser show on the Ramayana runs at Ram Ki Paidi after the aarti. Have dinner nearby and head back to your hotel.
Day 2: Guptar Ghat, Bharat Kund, Mani Parvat & Shopping
7:00 AM — Guptar Ghat (about 8–10 km)
Guptar Ghat is a quiet, clean riverfront where, according to tradition, Bhagwan Ram took Jal Samadhi in the Saryu. Morning here is peaceful, with fewer crowds and boating on some days. Take a cab or e-rickshaw. Guide: Guptar Ghat and Lata Mangeshkar Chowk.
9:30 AM — Bharat Kund, Nandigram (about 15–20 km)
Bharat Kund is the place where, according to the Ramayana, Bharat ji ruled Ayodhya for 14 years from Nandigram, keeping Shri Ram's paduka (sandals) on the throne. It is less crowded and very meaningful for devotees. A cab is the best option; keep 2–2.5 hours for the round trip and visit.
1:00 PM — Lunch & Rest
3:30 PM — Mani Parvat
A small hillock with a temple on top, linked with the legend of Hanuman ji carrying the Sanjeevani mountain. You get a good view of the city from here.
4:30 PM — Ram Katha Park or Tulsi Smarak Bhawan
Ram Katha Park hosts Ramleela and cultural programmes, especially during festivals. Tulsi Smarak Bhawan is dedicated to Goswami Tulsidas and often has evening Ram Katha.
6:00 PM — Lata Mangeshkar Chowk & Shopping on Ram Path
See the giant veena installation at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk, then shop on Ram Path for Ramnami stoles, brass idols, Ayodhya prasad and souvenirs. If you are leaving tonight, keep 45–60 minutes to reach the station or airport.
