Ram Mandir Locker Facility & Mobile Rules 2026: Is Phone Allowed? Where to Keep Luggage
Mobile, camera & bags are not allowed in Ram Mandir. Free locker near entry, token system, where to keep luggage & rules at Hanuman Garhi. Updated 2026.
Last updated: 30 September 2026
Short answer: Mobile phones, cameras, smartwatches, earbuds, power banks and bags are not allowed inside Ram Mandir. Keeping them on silent mode does not help. There is a free locker facility near the entry, where you deposit your phone and small items and get a numbered token. Your items are returned only against that token. Big suitcases do not fit in these lockers, so leave heavy luggage at your hotel, in your cab, or at the railway station cloak room. Show your darshan pass QR first, then deposit your phone.
"Phone kahan rakhein?" and "Luggage ka kya karein?" are the two most common questions devotees ask at the Ram Mandir gate. Many families lose 30–60 minutes because they only find out at the security checkpoint. This guide covers what you can and cannot carry, how the locker system works, where to keep big bags, and where you can take photos in Ayodhya. It also covers how Hanuman Garhi and Kanak Bhawan compare. Read it once before you leave your hotel.

Where to Keep Big Luggage in Ayodhya
The temple lockers are only for phones and small items. If you arrive straight from the train or flight with suitcases, use one of these options:
| Option | Best for | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Your hotel | Everyone staying the night | Most hotels keep luggage at reception even before check-in. See hotels near Ram Mandir |
| Your cab | Day trips and airport/station transfers | Luggage stays in the locked car with the driver while you do darshan. See airport and station pickup |
| Railway station cloak room | Travellers catching a train the same day | Paid, run under railway rules. Carry ID and keep your bag locked. Check train times on IRCTC. See station to Ram Mandir |
Do not leave bags with unknown shopkeepers or "helpers" who offer to keep them for a fee. Use the official locker, your hotel or your cab. For common tricks around the temple, read Ram Mandir VIP darshan: real or fake.
