Which is the Best Cab Service for Kashi, Mathura, Ayodhya and Prayag?

Best cab service for Kashi, Mathura, Ayodhya and Prayag: distances, driving times, which car to book, how fares work, what to check and a 7-day plan.

Which is the Best Cab Service for Kashi, Mathura, Ayodhya and Prayag?

Kashi, Mathura, Ayodhya and Prayagraj are the four pilgrimage cities most families want to cover in one trip. All four are in Uttar Pradesh, but they are far apart: Mathura alone is a full day's drive from Ayodhya. A good cab service makes the difference between a tiring road trip and a peaceful yatra. This guide explains how to choose the best cab service for Kashi, Mathura, Ayodhya and Prayag: which vehicle to book, the route and driving times, how cab fares are usually worked out, what to check before paying, and a sample day-by-day plan.

Quick answer: the best cab service for this circuit is one that is based on the route (so drivers know temple parking, crowd timings and diversions), quotes the full trip in writing (kilometres, days, driver allowance, tolls, parking and night charges), uses commercial-plate vehicles with valid permits and insurance, and gives you the driver's name and number before the trip. Your Travel Partner is based in Ayodhya and runs cabs on this circuit. You can enquire on WhatsApp +91 78811 55800 or see our cab service page.

Distances and Driving Times on the Circuit

The figures below are approximate road distances and normal driving times. Real time depends on traffic, festival crowds, fog in winter and diversions near temple areas, so plan some extra time each day.

RouteApprox. distanceApprox. driving timeMain road
Ayodhya to Prayagraj165 to 175 km4 to 4.5 hoursAyodhya–Prayagraj highway via Sultanpur / Pratapgarh
Prayagraj to Varanasi (Kashi)120 to 125 km3 to 3.5 hoursNH19
Ayodhya to Varanasi (Kashi)200 to 230 km4.5 to 5.5 hoursVia Jaunpur / Sultanpur
Ayodhya to Lucknowabout 135 km2.5 to 3 hoursNH27
Lucknow to Mathuraabout 360 to 380 km5 to 6 hoursAgra–Lucknow Expressway, then Yamuna Expressway or NH19
Ayodhya to Mathuraabout 500 to 560 km8.5 to 10 hoursVia Lucknow and the Agra–Lucknow Expressway
Mathura to Vrindavanabout 12 km30 to 45 minutesLocal road (heavy crowds on weekends)

Ayodhya, Prayagraj and Varanasi form a tight triangle that is easy to cover by cab in three to four days. Mathura and Vrindavan sit in western UP, close to Agra and Delhi. That is why most families either add Mathura at the start or end of the trip (arriving via Delhi or Agra), or cover the long Ayodhya–Mathura leg in one full driving day.

Which Cab Should You Book? Vehicle by Group Size

Choosing the right vehicle matters more on this circuit than in a city, because you will spend 25 to 35 hours on the road across the full trip. Book a vehicle with spare space for luggage and puja items.

Group sizeSuggested vehicleWhy
1 to 3 peopleSedan (Dzire, Etios or similar)Economical for the Ayodhya–Prayagraj–Kashi triangle. Boot space is limited for long trips.
4 to 5 peopleErtiga or similar MUVExtra row and better luggage room than a sedan.
5 to 6 people, or elderly travellersInnova CrystaMost comfortable for long highway days and for knees and backs. The usual choice when Mathura is included.
7 to 12 people12-seater Tempo TravellerOne vehicle for the whole family, with standing room and space for bags.
13 to 26 people17, 20 or 26-seater Tempo Traveller, or a mini busFor groups, satsang mandalis and extended families. Ask us for a custom group package.

For elderly parents, ask for a vehicle with working AC on both rows, a captain-seat layout if possible, and a driver who is used to slow, careful highway driving rather than racing to the next stop.

How Cab Fares Are Usually Worked Out for Outstation Trips

Most outstation cab services in UP price a multi-city trip in one of two ways. Knowing both helps you compare quotes properly.

  • Per-kilometre with a daily minimum: you pay a rate per kilometre, with a minimum number of kilometres charged per day even if you drive less (for example, on a day spent only on temple visits).
  • Fixed package price: one price for the full route and number of days, with the included kilometres stated. Extra kilometres are charged separately.

On top of the base fare, check whether these are included or extra:

  • Driver allowance (bhatta) for each day and each night
  • Toll charges (the Agra–Lucknow and Yamuna expressways have tolls)
  • Parking charges at temples, ghats and hotels
  • Night driving charges, if the cab runs late at night
  • GST

We do not publish one fixed fare here because the price depends on the vehicle, number of days, total kilometres and season. Festival dates (Deepotsav, Dev Deepawali, Janmashtami, Holi in Braj, Magh Mela) are the busiest. For an exact quote for your dates, send your route and group size on WhatsApp +91 78811 55800.

8 Things to Check Before You Book a Cab

  1. Written quote: ask for the route, days, included kilometres, extra-km rate, driver allowance, tolls, parking and GST in writing, on WhatsApp or email.
  2. Commercial vehicle: a taxi should have a yellow commercial number plate, valid permit and insurance. Private white-plate cars used as taxis are a risk if anything goes wrong.
  3. Driver details in advance: name, mobile number and vehicle number at least a day before pickup.
  4. Route experience: a driver who knows Ram Path parking in Ayodhya, the ghat area in Varanasi, Sangam access in Prayagraj and the Vrindavan parikrama traffic saves a lot of time.
  5. Vehicle age and condition: ask for the model year. For long highway days, a newer vehicle with good AC is worth it.
  6. Clear cancellation terms: know what you pay if plans change. Read our cancellation policy.
  7. No darshan "pass" selling: no cab company can sell Ram Mandir darshan or aarti passes. They are free and issued only by the temple trust (see the next section). Be careful of anyone who offers paid "VIP passes".
  8. Support during the trip: a local office or coordinator you can call if the cab is late or breaks down.

Temple Darshan: What Your Cab Driver Cannot Do for You

A cab service can drop you near the temple, help with parking and wait for you. It cannot get you a darshan pass or skip a queue. Here is how each main temple works:

  • Ram Mandir, Ayodhya: darshan is free. Passes for darshan and aarti are free and issued only by Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra on the official portal online.srjbtkshetra.org. No travel company sells them. Mobile phones, bags and electronic items are not allowed inside, so keep them in the cab or use the official locker facility.
  • Kashi Vishwanath, Varanasi: use only the official website shrikashivishwanath.org for any darshan or aarti booking. Phones are not allowed inside.
  • Krishna Janmabhoomi, Mathura: security is strict and phones, bags and electronic items are not allowed inside. Leave them in the cab.
  • Banke Bihari, Vrindavan: the lanes around the temple are narrow and crowded, so cabs stop some distance away and you walk or take an e-rickshaw for the last stretch.
  • Triveni Sangam, Prayagraj: the cab drops you at the ghat area; boats to the Sangam point are hired at the ghat.

Temple timings change with seasons and festivals, so check the official temple website or notice on the day.

Sample Plan: Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Kashi and Mathura by Cab

This is one practical way to do the full circuit. It starts in Ayodhya and ends in Mathura, from where Delhi (about 160 to 180 km) and Agra (about 55 to 60 km) are close for your return.

Short on time? Do the Ayodhya–Prayagraj–Varanasi triangle in 3 to 4 days and cover Mathura–Vrindavan separately from Delhi. Our Ayodhya–Varanasi–Prayagraj 5-day itinerary covers the triangle in detail, and you can see ready plans on our Ayodhya package, Varanasi package and Prayagraj package pages, or ask for a custom package.

Where to Start: Pickup Points

  • Ayodhya: Maharishi Valmiki International Airport and Ayodhya Dham Junction. See our airport pickup and railway station pickup services.
  • Varanasi: Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport (Babatpur) and Varanasi Junction.
  • Prayagraj: Prayagraj Airport (Bamrauli) and Prayagraj Junction.
  • Lucknow: Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, often the most convenient airport for flights from other cities.
  • Mathura: Mathura Junction, or start from Delhi or Agra by road.

One-way drops are possible, but a one-way cab usually costs more per kilometre because the vehicle returns empty. For city-to-city transfers, see our intercity cab and round trip options.

Best Time to Travel

  • October to March: the most comfortable weather. Expect fog on early mornings from mid-December to January, which slows highway driving.
  • April to June: very hot in all four cities. Plan temple visits for early morning and evening and travel in the afternoon in an AC cab.
  • July to September: monsoon. Ghats in Varanasi and Prayagraj may be closed for boating when the rivers are high.
  • Festivals: Deepotsav in Ayodhya, Dev Deepawali in Kashi, Janmashtami and Holi in Braj, and Magh Mela in Prayagraj bring very large crowds and traffic restrictions. Book cabs and hotels early for these dates.
